Eumundi Markets
A feast for your senses
If you love poking around art and craft stalls, looking for that perfect piece of treasure that truly reflects your personality… you will love Eumundi Markets. The markets, which were established back in 1979, are a perfect portrayal of the unique and vibrant lifestyle of the region. The market stalls are diverse and intriguing with sights, sounds, smells and tastes that will fascinate your senses. You can also indulge in free cooking classes hosted by chef Peter Wolfe. Known for his exotic recipes that combine organic ingredients and bush foods, Peter will show you how to make the most of the locally grown, fresh produce available at the markets.
“There really is a remarkable selection to choose from – everything from fresh fruit and vegetables, artisan cheeses and freshly baked goods, to sauces and condiments using exotic recipes from as far away as Argentina and the Mauritius Islands,” says Peter.
Cooking classes take place 10am and 11am every Wednesday in the food and produce precinct of the market. The markets are open rain, hail or shine every Wednesday (8am-1.30pm) and Saturday (6.30am-2.30pm), year round.
Discover Mt Coolum
Explore the natural beauty of the Sunshine Coast region without having to pay an entry fee! Mt Coolum National Park is only a short drive from the resort. The mountain peak stands at 208 metres above sea level and hosts spectacular 360 degree views of the surrounding cane fields, eucalypt forest and, of course, coastal beaches. The 800mtr trail up the eastern side of the summit can get a little steep and tricky at times, but there is a good chance you will be too busy to notice, as you take in the wildlife, untouched bushland and wildflowers of the mountain.
Make sure you wear suitable walking shoes, carry water and keep a little snack handy for those energy levels.

UnderWater World
There is something about sea creatures that never ceases to inspire the imagination of both children and adults. UnderWater World at Mooloolaba is a great day out for the whole family, with over 5,500 sea creatures on show including sharks, sting-rays and seals.
The Oceanarium tunnel continues to be a main attraction, where you get amongst sea life and see, how the creatures of the sea interact. You can be amused for hours by observing the sharks, rays, turtles, starfish, and all the brightly coloured fish, but make sure you don’t miss the individual feeding times!
If you are after more excitement, you can book yourself in for an up-close-and-personal experience. Diving with a mighty shark, getting a sloppy, wet kiss or going for a swim with a playful seal do well to make the heart race a little faster. You can also go behind the scenes with a tour of the oceanarium, and see first-hand how the marine life is fed, cared for and protected by aquarium staff.
UnderWater World enables our kids to learn about the ocean, the creatures living in it, and how we can each do our bit to conserve the aquatic environment. Some activities, like the shark dive, need to be booked in advance so visit www.underwaterworld.com.au for more information.
